SEO Spamming and website marketing Scams.
"
I can guarantee number one ranking in Google ! " - Yeah
Right!
This
small feature relating to internet marketing scams and spam
is not meant to be a comprehensive directory relating to website
promotions and how to manipulate Google.
The
only purpose that kind of information would serve is to teach
unethical SEO's how to create more website marketing scams.
Avoid SEOs that talk about powerful FFA "free-for-all"
links, link farms, or submitting your site to thousands of
search engines. Some search engines mingle PPC pay-per-click
or PFI pay-for-inclusion results with their normal mainstream
search results. Whilst some website promoters and SEO's will
' guarantee ' you a high rank in those search engine results
and then position you in the sponsored or advertiser section
instead of in the genuine search results.
When
it starts to get dirty is when so-called marketing experts
change their bid prices in real time, this gives the illusion
that they have some sort of control over other search engines.
It is a scam and will not work in Google.
Ethical
and Unethical Search Engine Optimizers
Whitehats
& Blackhats
I've compared the internet industry with the Wild West
many times, like all Westerns, there are the good guys in
white and the baddlies in black.
Pretty
soon the phrases whitehat and blackhat will become an industry
standard description for the goodies and the baddies in SEO
terms.
I
like to think I am a whitehat, I endeavour to comply with
the rules and regulations of search engines and conduct my
website and internet marketing campaigns as an ethical SEO.
It
is a choice we all make. I think many SEO (search engine optimisers)
start with good intentions and proud to wear their whitehats,
frustration at seeing unethical seo practices gain high ranks
whilst the good intended whitehat flounders can force the
seo to change hats and begin to work in the dirty tricks department
... wearing a black hat. Yesterday we called them Spammers,
today thay are Blackhats !!
"
Free For All Links "
FFA'
or Free For All Links are also know as link farms. SEO' s
that include "free-for-all" links, link popularity
schemes, or submitting your site to thousands of search engines
in their internet marketing and promotions, or website marketing
SEO techniques will cause you problems. They are useless exercises
that won't affect your ranking results.
Here's
a simple piece of internet marketing logic. You spent time,
money and energy on your website - why would you want to place
a link for your visitors to leave it and spend their money
elsewhere?
Watch
out for the few unethical UK SEOs who misrepresent and provide
aggressive marketing tactics and unetihically attempt to manipulate
search engine results. You may have received emails from SEO
firms that start like this; "Dear website.co.uk,
I visited your website and noticed that you are not listed
in most of the major search engines and directories..."
or;" I can guarantee
number one ranking in Google ! " The truth
is; no one can guarantee a No.1 ranking on Google. No UK SEO
can have a "special relationship" with Google, no
internet marketing experts UK or otherwise have a "priority
submit" to Google, in fact there is no such thing as
a priority submit for Google.
So
you need to me more cautious of website marketing and promotion
experts who offer too good to be true guarantees, than those
who don't guarantee!
